Whether your event is a huge awards show with loads of live music and roll-ins, or whether it is a solo piano concert – you should definitely commit to great audio. Even a simple interview show may have theme music, bumper music, sound effects, phone calls, and more.
If your goal is nothing more than a blurry ‘viral’ video for YouTube, then you may want to stop right here.
If your live show matters at all, you will want to preserve as much of the live elements as possible for later use in post-production. If it is a musical event, you will want to record it on multi-track. If it is a live broadcast, you will still want to record it on multi-track, but you will also need to mix the show live for your broadcast.
